  1. This store is trash! I spent almost $10k in this store and to have the techs not show up when they give you a window from 12-8pm is ridiculous. I just had to cancel my order because of it and cancel that total tech membership as well. Don’t bother with this store or any other Best Buy store for that matter. The delivery people didn’t pull the trash from the new refrigerator and they messed up my brand new dryer.

  2. Bought a gaming system (cyberpowerpc) for my son. The box was sealed and had slight damage due to shipping but nothing was damaged. It wasn’t until unboxing the system that I noticed no power cord or paperwork explaining anything about the components, setup, warranty, nothing at all about the system. After contacting Bestbuy we returned to the store and got a power cord for the system (no extra cost). Bestbuy did their best to remedy the missing parts. As for paperwork (manuals, warranty and misc. unknown paperwork) I’m unsure how to get this info. I did register the system on the manufacturer website, again another search for something that should have been included in paperwork. Overall, I’m just glad my son is happy. He’s had an ordeal with trying to get this particular gaming system that has stemmed from several months of disappointments (another story for another time).

  3. Was given incorrect information on policy, and after proving what the correct policy was, asked if the product in-stock.

Without checking any data base already told product was not in stock.

At this point the credibility of the employees was gone at this point.

Any time I’m feeling like a bother to someone I’m trying to do business with, I’ll just stop doing business.

In fairness none of the employees were rude to me, it seriously came of as they were more interested selling me the door than a product.

  4. I walked around for 25 mins into different departments, standing near employees, picking items up and putting them down as to signal I needed help. Not one employee even said hello to me the ENTIRE time I was inside the store. I’ll go buy what I need on Amazon, I’ll save money and guess what they have better customer service as well if I need them. Best Buy is trash anymore.

  5. Great customer service! Was greeted by a smile and help from an employee in the back where the TVs were. I only bought because of her and how she handled herself. Thank you!

I paid for a BRAND NEW white Yamaha HS5, yet they gave me a USED, BEATEN UP, “FLOOR MODEL” that DID NOT COME WITH A POWER CORD. I am not making this up. All I wanted was a BRAND NEW white HS5. If you did not have a BRAND NEW HS5, then you should have said that. I wasted Lyft money for something Guitar Center reps both local on over the phone messed up on. I did not know Guitar Center was and still is highly notorious when it comes to TOP QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE. Guitar Center HQ, or whomever this may concerns, you seriously ought to fix your issue. How would you like it if someone gave you something truly unexpectedly disappointing that you paid for from your own hard earn money? Because now I cannot trust purchasing from such a company EVER AGAIN. Either give me A BRAND NEW YAMAHA HS5 in NEW CONDITION or you will lose yet another customer.

*Update* I took my bass in to have it adjusted and a deep cleaning. Repair Joe really knows his stuff and can explain the whys and hows without getting you lost in the technical stuff. When Joe opened the case I could hardly believe my eyes, inside sat such a new looking 30 year old bass. Then he told me he set it up to Fender specs, a very nice surprise.* Whether you can’t wait for that mail order gear or quickly need to replace something before a gig, Guitar Center is the place to go! Casual in-store perusing or buying is always welcomed by the knowledgeable and friendly staff. Repairs and set up services are also offered. The vast selection of instruments, amps and accessories assure you’ll find whatever you may need. Musicians know that hearing is believing and being able to plug in to play live goes a long way in decision making. Get on down and crank it to 11🤘🤘!!

Great store with great selection and atmosphere. Bought my daughter her first bass guitar here. It’s hot pink and she loves it. Picked up an amplifier, cable and strap all out the door for just around $600. Will definitely visit again when we need strings or a case.

If I could leave negative stars, I’d do it. I was on vacation on July 28 and decided to stop in to the Guitar Center in Charleston, SC (Store #735). I find a guitar and start demoing it only to have an employee tap me on the shoulder and tell me to turn my volume down so that they could hear their phones. This was not a problem at all EXCEPT the following:

    1) my volume was at 2 and nothing else was past 5 (if even).

    2) there was a group of 4 grown gentlemen hitting basses at a volume so loud I couldn’t even hear what I was playing through my own head, let alone through the amplifier I was using at the time.

    3) Half of the group just so happened to be black (I’m white) and the aforementioned shoulder-tapping employee who had an afro did not tell them to turn their volume down at all. As a matter of fact, they kept plucking and hitting away AFTER I was told to turn my stuff down.

All I felt I could do was unplug the cable, leave the amp on, put the guitar back where I found it (or close to that vicinity), and storm out because I knew I was targeted. The lessons guy looked at me like I had 8 heads when I told him what happened. I sent a complaint on your website and was told via email that I would get a response in no more than 24 hours. Nothing. I even called the other number given to me in that email and was told nothing and not to worry. Still nothing pretty much. It’s too late for that now as you have 99.5% likely lost me as a customer for life. I’ve been a customer with you guys since I started playing 8 1/2 years ago and I never thought I’d be typing an email like this to a company I thought I could trust. Around 3 weeks ago, however, I received another inquiry from your company asking to talk. I cannot for the life of me find the email now, but I specifically remember the lady who sent using “they/them” pronouns. This is the straw that has broken the camel’s back because I did not consent to seeing any pronouns, first of all. Second, this also means I cannot take you seriously at all whatsoever. Lastly, this 125% means that I cannot in good conscience shop at any Guitar Center anymore. I will not support corporations forcing pronoun use and enabling racist targeting. My prayer is you and everyone in your company repents of this pandering nonsense and finds something fulfilling, which ultimately is Jesus Christ. Until then, I won’t be visiting Guitar Center anymore. You had better thank the Lord Jesus Christ that I have a forgiving heart and have decided not to sue your company for discrimination. Good job.

    Repent!

Update 9/5/22 – they told me to email an address that has already received this review as of last month. Solidifies that I will NOT be shopping at Guitar Center anymore and I implore anyone who stumbles across this to do the same.

Store was a bit of a mess when I was in to buy a keyboard. They were rearranging the displays it seems. But, Cam was very helpful. I’m a complete novice just starting to learn piano. After setting it up and playing for a few hours, I’m very happy with what he recommended.

Had a great experience with custom car stereo. Chris was very helpful when it came to picking out my tint. I love the way my truck looks now and I’ll definitely be back to custom car stereo in the future and highly recommend!

I brought my 2009 Hyundai Genesis in to get the sound system fixed. I had some blown speakers.

It is an older vehicle, but I’ve had it for 10 years and with 187K miles it is my favorite vehicle. I worked with Bryan. He was nice and helpful. He suggested I buy the Focal 165AS3 speakers and said I could get a Bluetooth adapter (I couldn’t get the head unit replaced in the car). So I bought the speakers and Bluetooth adapter, and with labor it was $1722. I initially did not like the sound at all — but I noticed that the equalizer had been turned all the way down for treble, bass, and mid. Once I adjusted that, it sounded better, not fantastic.

The subwoofer sounded really bad, so I opted to replace that during a 2nd visit. The original quote was around $400, but the replacement subwoofer didn’t sound good (they did tell me this over the phone), so they convinced me to buy the JL
ACP110LG-TW1 10 inch sub. It sounds great! When I picked up the car this time, I noticed some workmanship things that needed fixing — the backseat needed to be pushed back more, and some plastic panels underneath the driver controls needed to be popped back in. I mentioned this, and they took it back and fixed it immediately. This sub work ended up costing $1295.

Lastly, I noticed that the speakers were very harsh when playing the highs of rock/metal music — my ears would ache when playing music at high volumes. I went in for a 3rd time and worked with Bryan to swap out the tweeters in the Focal kit I bought from them in favor of a cheaper Rockford tweeter T1TS. It sounds much better now. This work was $317. It was a little disappointing that I had to swap out tweeters from the kit that I had just bought, but I’m glad it was improved. It’s not perfect, but Bryan explained that I’d need a new Equalizer to get it sounding how I want it to.

Ultimately, they worked with me and my sound is better than before. I really like the Bluetooth connectivity that I now have.

I’m not in love with my system though, especially since it was $3335 total. But it is a marked improvement. Perhaps my expectations were unreasonable — I had planned on spending $1300 before I had any work done.

I wanted to jump on here and say thank you to custom car stereo for fixing their mess up with me. The original experience is why I can’t give the full 5 stars. I wrote a very honest review a few weeks back about a not so good experience I was having with one particular employee. It earned them a well deserved 1 star review. Since then the GM has contacted me and made it right. He got my radio fixed and reinstalled promptly upon learning about what happened. I currently have my radio back in my car. I am one week in and I am not having any problems with it. It is working great! Ya know, people mess up sometimes and sometimes it’s just a personality conflict. This very well may have been the case in my experience or better yet it think it was a solid combination of those two things. Once I was contacted by Steve, the general manager, my experience with them did a 180. It’s good when a business can own their mistake, apologize and do the right thing. Trust that custom car stereo is one of the good ones. If you have a bad experience with them please make your way to the general manager, he will get the problem resolved. Thanks again guys, it’s nice not to be driving around listening to a 8 year old hand held Bluetooth speaker, looking at a hole in my dash, mad at y’all. The touchscreen is back and working better than ever! If I can find a picture of my 1st review I’ll post it below but I may have deleted it prematurely once Steve got me fixed up. 🤙💎👍

Great audio, tint work and more! We have been using them for years, upgrading the audio on our new and vintage cars. Their work is amazing and their staff is very accommodating. I highly recommend this shop to anyone no matter the age of your vehicle they will take great care of you and your vehicle.

Took my vehicle here to be tinted. Told employee when I checked in that I would be waiting there. 4 hours later I went to desk to inquire about time and was told vehicle had been done awhile?! They say they called my phone, why would you call someone’s phone who was there? Overall the work on the vehicle looks exceptional. Took great care of a newer high value vehicle. Workmanship, and care were great. The Customer Service on the other left me a sour taste.
