  1. Best Buy’s website showed a TV in stock, but no one could find it. Asked if they could call another location to verify they physically had the TV before we drove out there. Said they could not; only a manager could. Called on their radio to ask for a manager. No management responded. Tried to call the other store directly, only to find you cannot call a store directly. They only have a national number where they can only tell you what the computer shows in stock. No way to actually talk to someone IN the store to verify stock on hand. No one even offered to place an order for us (website now shows we could order for pickup next week). Too bad they don’t have any competition. Think we’ll end up closing our account. Appalling customer service!

  2. I frequently shop at this Best Buy – simply because it is closer to my home in Independence.

On Saturday the 23rd of July, 2022 I went to this store to buy a new MacBook. I had the intentions of trading in several devices then using the Gift Cards I received to buy the computer.

I was greeted and ask to wait at the Cell Phone gallery.

When arriving, I noticed a “supervisor and representative huddle” occurring. There appeared to be two Cell Phone representatives, one of which was helping a couple upgrade phones, and the other with their supervisor doing some sort of review.

What happened next, was fairly uncomfortable, and sort of frustrating.

The employee, whom I’ve worked with in the past said to me, “oh, someone else is going to help you, I’m going to lunch.”

The supervisor, said nothing. She didn’t even attempt to find someone to assist me, she just continued her on the floor review of expectations. “Gaining commitments of selling 3 accessories to each and every client who makes a purchase in this area.”

Finally, after waiting around for nearly 15 or so minutes, she reluctantly begun to assist me.

As she begun to explain to me how the process worked, I mentioned that I was aware of the requirements that were necessary to trade devices in. The Find my iPhone features and other master locks were removed, the devices functioned properly and had been erased.

She then proceeded to exclaim to me that she was the department manager, and I was going to listen to her.

Any time an employee has to proclaim that they are the department manager as a means to try to intimidate a customer during a conversation tells me everything I need to know about their confidence level in handling customers and what they need.

The young lady in with Pink hair had to tell me 3 or 4 times about how she was in charge of the department so her way was correct.

Little did she know that I’ve managed a cell phone store, worked in the cell phone industry for nearly 10 years, and just prior to beginning work in the cell phone industry – worked for Best Buy.

The point being that I felt she was not trying to gain understanding or come to some sort of common ground, she had taken the stance of I’m going to do this, and you’re going to do it my way because I’m annoyed that I have to do these trade in’s and the paperwork associated.

In my opinion, the insecurity was in peak form. After the proclamation of her being the department manager, very little was said between client and representative. I chose to take the gift cards, and go to another location to buy my computer.

I’m thrilled she’s made the position, but making people feel inferior, or uninformed is not how you come to an agreement in a purchasing situation and has otherwise made me uninterested in doing business at this Best Buy.

  3. I went for one exact product, and the lady at the entrance was so sure she had the right spot that it took me a few minutes to realize she was either off by an aisle, or I misunderstood her. I wish they had aisle numbers, or she was allowed to show me the right spot. It would have saved me time. Otherwise, it was the usual Best Buy. No one around unless you’re looking for a big ticket item, but they have all the things you need for a steep “but it now instead of waiting for 2 days” convenience fee. I still like having this as an option.

  4. Good Best Buy. Clean, super friendly employees, and a killer set of headphone displays. You can test some of the best brands and styles that are available.

  5. Brought new washer, my sales person was awesome. Young Black guy – courteous, respectful & very knowledgeable of machine’s & combo’s. He made everything so easy.

Great selection of new and used guitars. They also handle keyboards, drums, recording and pro audio, sound and lights.

I would really like this place to go to, but I would not recommend ever going there even in the day. Never park in the guitar Center parking lot you will get your car broken into or stolen. I got lucky and I was able to scare the guy off before he could take my car, the problem with guitar Center is that they have absolutely no cameras outside of the store and good luck getting any security camera video of your car because there is no cameras facing anywhere around there store.

Went in to purchase a bass guitar, left with a pedal instead.

Dylan was very friendly and approachable. I wasn’t sure what I was needing to achieve the sound I wanted so he offered to demonstrate a few pedals and explained their functions thoroughly. Left with the pigtronics disnortion micro in the end and I’m very pleased with the service he provided.

Super friendly staff. Went looking for an amp for my son as he has outgrown his current beginner amp.

We were looking for a slightly larger amp that wasn’t overly priced and easily usable.

They had many varieties to choose from, and with a little input from me our GS Associate plugged a guitar into several different makes and models and nailed what we were looking for, and for under $200 at that.

Thank you Guitar Center for your help and patience, Its greatly appreciated!!

I just had Independence Audio-Video install (4) quality Focal OD6 speakers in my backyard. This is a project I’ve dreamed of doing since I purchased my home a decade ago. I’m not sure why I waited so long?

The speakers connect directly to my Yamaha 2070 with two separate zones. Zone 2 for Deck, Zone 3 for Patio. To turn on the music in the backyard, all my wife has to do is hit the “Party” button on the remote and the music instantly plays at a perfect level of -40db. Although I bought the system for me…she’s the one who *really* loves it! She now does her bird-watching, coffee-drinking to the music of Brian Crain each morning! The sound quality is amazing – excellent clarity, even at low levels.

Jeff was amazing to work with and the team that came out to my house were real audio experts. Even though they ran into a few challenges in my home, they knew exactly what to do. I was extremely impressed with the whole team. And their prices were very reasonable.

I’m planning on finishing my basement soon and will definitely be returning to IAV for future audio work. I would encourage you to go to their store and look around. They know their business well – 10 out of 10 stars.

Great experience with the guys at Independence audio. Had them install a basic home theater set up in my basement with the goal of being able to watch multiple sports games or other programs on one screen at the same time. They were able to advise me on whether to do a projector screen, a large TV or multiple smaller TVs and what would work best for our specific space. Ultimately settled on an 83 inch TV (given the space) and they were able to pair it with a tiling mechanism (Metra Multiviewer) that allowed for the TV screen to be split 4 equal ways simultaneously (with different inputs) or to do Picture in Picture with the proper aspect ratio and resolutions remaining intact. They also got us set up with a nice Sonos system with sound that fit our needs and a remote that was able to control everything from one simple device.

Communication was good throughout the process as it looked like we might have to wait a while for install but Dave our sales rep kept in touch as things with the schedule evolved and was able to move us up by over a month from our originally scheduled date. The install guys who came the day of were really good to work with as well. Very knowledgeable, professional and good at communicating with someone like me who’s not overly tech savvy. They were there for about 5 hours installing everything and showed me how to set up and work everything that was installed.

Overall good experience and quality work from people who clearly know what they are talking about and what they are doing.

I have a Mustang GT Premium with the 12 speaker Shaker Pro system including subwoofer. Wonderful factory system but left more to be desired. After a lot of research on the best place to take the car to for a full system upgrade while retaining the factory Ford Sync head unit all fingers seemed to be pointed at Independence Audio being the folks I could trust the vehicle with. There are a lot of electronics in these new vehicles these days, I wanted it done properly because it is a vehicle I have been doing a lot of mods to and plan on keeping for the long haul. I live almost 2 hours away down in the Ozarks but was willing to travel for quality and piece of mind.
They were booked out a little while if course but what reputable place isn’t, I didn’t mind waiting. I dropped the car off for a few days and they replaced all the speakers, subwoofer and factory amp with JL Audio all the way around.
Couldn’t be happier with how clean the install was and the sound quality. You pop my hood or look inside the interior of the car you can’t even tell these folks were in there other than the bass knob installed neatly in the console by my shifter. Pop the trunk and the subwoofer and amplifier are tucked neatly out of the way with room for cargo and access to the spare tire and jack.

100% worth every penny. Chris Stroud was my rep and was very smooth and informative to work with from the first phone call to my back and forth with questions and kept me updated through the entire process. Never gave me the feeling I was bothering them. My installer is a wizard and absolutely killed it!!
    Very professional, highly recommended!! A+++

Been going here since my first car, bought a 2022 Refresh Silverado and they put a sub, amp and bass switch in , zero issues. I was the first person to bring in the new updated dash to them. I’m stoked been a month or 2 now and zero issues sounds amazing. I’ll be bringing in my impala here soon.

I would recommend this place just based on the people alone. Everyone I have encountered has been more than helpful and informative. Able to answer my questions and go above and beyond. For instance the other day I bought a adapter for my radio and Justin was there to help me get it figured out so it would work. Night before Justin was helping me remedy my door speaker problem. Like seriously stood there for good 10-15 minutes trying to help me figure this problem out. He ended up grinding a piece of plastic off of my radio adapter and dudes just awesome! I’m really bad with names but I have dealt with several people inside the store and they have all been nothing but nice and willing to go above and beyond! Also seems like every time I go in there they have pretty decent deals going on. If you’re thinking about upgrading any type of car audio or home improvement, I seriously recommend at least given these guys an opportunity. Won’t be disappointed! At least I never have.
